Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Sunday, y'all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Today I have my Mardi Gras mani to show y'all. 

I literally did this in 15 minutes before we ran out the door to head to the city! This is why my middle finger is a little bald in spots--it only has one coat of OPI's Purple With A Purpose. My pointer finger is Essie's Mojito Madness with purple rhinestone accents. My ring finger is two coats of China Glaze's Glitter All The Way (which is a perfect Mardi Gras color!) It has a lot of purple, green, and gold glitter with a little bit of red too. I was really tempted to buy another bottle when they went on sale at Sally's the other day! I mean, what are the chances that there will be any other polishes so close? Also, for only two coats it has really good coverage! And on my pinky is also Purple With A Purpose and I made a Mardi Gras bead using my dotting tool and OPI's The It Color and Mojito Madness.

Mardi Gras 2013 was a success! I am so proud to call New Orleans home. There was a lot of good food, alcohol, company, and beads! There were more of us then the group picture above, but we never got one of us all together. I love when the whole family gets to come into town.

Anyways, what did y'all think of these nails? Do you own Glitter All The Way? And did it ever occur to you that it looked like Mardi Gras in a bottle?

Birthday Cupcake Nails!

Hey guys! I know that the cupcake nails have been done a million different ways but I've always wanted to try them because they're just so darn cute! So I decided that that's what I'd do for my birthday on February 7th.

If you saw my last post, you know that I started with two coats of Essie's Bikini So Teeny.  Here are the next steps:

2.) OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape about halfway down nail (no special brush)

3.) Sinful Colors pink striping polish to make little lines on top of the green

4.) OPI's Alpine Snow to dab 'icing' on top the cupcakes. They basically look like little clouds. (again, no special brush used)

5.) Add a red cherry on top. I used a dotting tool with China Glaze's Red Alert. 

6.) Add sprinkles in your choice of colors with dotting tool. 

And there you have it! So simple! I got many compliments on these.

Back-Tracking!

Okay so in the next couple of posts I'm going to be doing a little bit of back-tracking so that I can show y'all some of my manicures that y'all have missed since I haven't been blogging. Forgive me if they aren't in chronological order. 

These were my nails for New Year's. This is two coats of OPI's Pompeii Purple with accents of Optical Illusion by China Glaze.  Basically all I did with Optical Illusion is started with a lot of polish at the tip and then drug some of it about halfway down my nail with the brush. I came back and added more to the tips because I wanted Optical Illusion to build and become opaque the closer it got to the ends of my nails. I really liked how this turned out.

China Glaze-Skyscraper

Heey y'all! I am such a horrible blogger! It's been a week since my last post! I try everyday to make room in my schedule for blogging, but sometimes it is hard. Today i'm posting Skyscraper by China Glaze. I bought this in my last haul from Sally's. It is a gorgeous glitter that has full coverage in just two coats. I thought at first that I was going to have to layer it over something..but I was mistaken!

I think that this is from the Metro Collection? To get it off, I used the foil method! It worked PERFECTLY! Honestly. I was amazed. I didn't get to get a picture, but i'll try next time. What do y'all think  of thi color?

Haul Post

Hey ladies! Like I said in my last post, i've been super busy! I'm going to make a quick haul post before I start studying for my exams this week! This haul was from about two weeks ago. I stopped by Sally's as well as a drugstore that sells OPI! I also got a Sally's Beauty Club card this time and am looking forward to saving some $$!

From Sally's, I got 4 China Glaze polishes and 1 Orly polish. The first Orly polish that I spent my own money on! And also my second in my whole collection! I think the deal at Sally's was like to buy two China Glaze polishes and get a pack of false eyelashes free or something? I'm not exactly sure, but I ended up with two packs of falsies.



I've never work fake eyelashes so I don't really have a clue about them. I got the sparkly ones for either Halloween or a Saints game!

I picked up (for the first time) two packs of nail wheels! Which I am almost finished swatching my collection, then i'll have a post about those. And I also picked up some dried flowers that I have seen used a few times in other blogger's manicures.

Now..from the drugstore with OPI:


OPI's Swimsuit..Nailed It, Pink Shatter, Pros and Bronze, Love is a Racket, and My Address is Hollywood. I was so excited to find all the newest collections!

 And in the mail I recieved my two Butter London polishes from Ulta's BOGO free sale!

I got Macbeth and British Racing Green. This picture isn't the best of lighting. I only kept British Racing Green. My sole purpose of ordering Macbeth was to give to my English IV teacher since we are currently reading Macbeth-she loved it!

Feeling Purple-y.

All my head is thinking right now is that it has a headache. Blaaahh. I feel like my eyes are about to pop right out of their sockets because of the pressure behind them. It now looks like my dad is still bringing me to Tennessee but my mom is staying back due to my Paw-Paw being in the hospital. I've been taking on the role of 'mom' for the past few days-which is EXTREMELY stressful. Especially when my brothers, who i'm playing mom to, don't listen to what I have to say. Darn brothers! So I guess we'll just see how smoothly things run in the next week-that'll determine how many posts I get in.

On a brighter note-I got my pedicure today! It felt so good :) And when Ms.Get (my nail tech.), who has been doing my nails foorrevver,  saw me walk in she was so excited to show me her new colors she bought! She told me that she had one I was going to like and that nobody else had gotten it yet. She handed me Flying Dragon by China Glaze. I was immediately in love! It is a neon purple with blue and pink microglitter. Of course, with the top coat it is so shiny. I love it! She tells me all the time that I like the 'bright colors'. So true! However, i'm not brave enough to paint my own nails with neon. She also told me that i'm going to have to show her what I get from Cosmetic Market!

And last night, late, I painted my own nails with Spontaneous by China Glaze. Which is also purple. I wasn't planning on having two different shades of purple on my fingers and toes-but that's just how it worked out! I'll post pictures now!

I know that doesn't even seem like a pimple on a knats behind (haha, shout out to my great-Aunt Sylvia who uses that saying) to y'all but it is a lot for me! I thought I wouldn't get past 10! So i'm just so thankful for all of you! And maybe there will be a 50 follower giveaway in the future?

Prettiest Pink That I Ever Did See!

Hey y'all! I'm glad to be back and blogging! So yesterday I painted my nails with one of my favorite colors EVER. Limbo Bimbo by China Glaze. I remember when I first bought this polish and tried it out, I was amazed. It was pretty much like my go-to color. However, after I really got polish-crazed and started buying a bunch of polish I sort of forgot it was there! :( I always wear my new colors and feel like i'll never get back to wearing the older ones. When I got my five new Kleancolors in the mail though, I knew that the first one I wanted to wear was City Never Sleeps. To avoid having to put on probably three coats of the glitter polish, I just decided that I would layer it over another color. So since City Never Sleeps is composed of tiny blue glitter with big pink, lime green, and gold glitter, I wanted to pick a base color that matched. My eye immediately fell on Limbo Bimbo! And once I put on just my first coat it all came flooding back! I promise to never forget about Limbo Bimbo again!! It's just a breath taking hot pink. I haven't even put on a top coat because it's so shiny. And I find myself just randomly staring at my hands. Plus my mom has complimented me buku times on them! On to the pictures:

Don't Mess With OPI

Hey y'all! This is just going to be a quick post because i'm busy packing for my short trip, plus I still have to take a shower and do all that girly stuff! I'm going see Jason Aldean! So I won't be posting again until Saturday! I'll miss you guys!!

This is what i'm wearing to the concert-simply because it matches my outfit (sort of). It isn't one of my favorite colors but it's so different. It's kind of growing on me. Plus, it was given to me twice by accident. So I have two bottles! I'm saving one for a future giveaway! This is Don't Mess With OPI from the Texas Collection.

Also, my cousins called me last night asking if I could make a 'house call'. Haha. I ran over with a box of my polishes. It was pretty late and we didn't finish up until after 10!  But I have pictures of their nails.



This is my cousin Sophia's nails in My Private Jet by OPI. And let me just tell you! There was no way to capture it's beautifulness (not a word, lol.) It almost looks brown in this picture but there is so much more too it! I can't wait to wear this on my own nails.

Pretty In Pink!

Hey guys! I'm just going to throw this out there-in case y'all aren't aware of how I do my posts. Whatever i'm posting is USUALLY what I wore on my nails the day before. So like, my newspaper nails that I posted yesterday, were from the day before. And the nails i'm posting today are from yesterday. And then however I paint my nails tonight, will be tomorrow's post! Get it?

So yesterday I wore China Glaze's Pink-Rox-E. I don't really know why the 'E' is on the end, but I don't know a lot of things! Haha. This polish really really surprised me! I wasn't expecting it to be as pretty as it is! Being in the bottle just doesn't do it justice. It has this great golden shimmer to it. The only thing is that it IS kind of sheer. Nothing against sheer, but I just prefer polish to be opaque since I have long nails. It took me 4 coats to get it to where I liked it-and it dried pretty fast!

And of course, I just always feel like I have to add something extra. So I chose a gold glitter from Forever 21 to put on my accent finger.
