Pictures From My TN Trip

Sorry guys! I didn't really keep up with posting while in Tennessee. Except for my one post about my haul-because I figured some of you may be just as excited as I was about seeing all the polish! SO! Until tomorrow when I actually have a color on my fingers, i'll just post some pictures. I have a few that i'll post too of my cousin's nails. With all the polish lying around on the kitchen table for days-they decided they might as well get their nails painted!

I painted one of my cousin's nails with Mod About You by OPI. We couldn't get over how tan it made her look!



One of my other cousins painted her own nails with Essie's Neo Whimsical. So light and dainty! Love!

And of course I painted my nails while there with some of my new polish! I put on a base of OPI's Sparrow Me The Drama and then used OPI's I Lily Love You as a top coat. I think it's so pretty!



And this is what my polish rack looks like now after bringing home my new polish. Half of it is now consumed by OPI, I had to take down all of my Forever 21 Love & Beauty polishes and put them in one of those little baskets, and a bunch of the other colors are in the baskets. I am now out of space in the baskets and on the rack! Looks like I need another rack-quick!

 So that's all for tonight! I'll have a post tomorrow but I can't promise much for the rest of the week. We're just starting school back on Wednesday so I don't know how busy i'll be!

Steady As She Rose + Small New Storage

Today, I have a swatch of Steady As She Rose from OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. I've been wanting to try this since I bought it! It's a really great greyish lavender. In some lighting if you just glance at them they almost look white. But I love it. I'd call it a neutral because it can be worn with anything. It took three coats for me to get it to how I like it. The first coat was very streaky with lots of bald spots. And some people may be able to get away with two. But I did three just for good measure :) Right now I have it on my fingers and toes!



The three polishes I used. I always start with my Natural Nail Base Coat by OPI. And most of the time I end with a top coat given to me by the person who always does my nails at the salon. She sold this to me one day and told me that I can bring it back and get it refilled whenever I needed. I don't think this is even the right bottle for it. Because the bottle says 'white pearl'. So she must've just had an empty bottle that she filled with top coat. Anyways-I love it! It's very shiny and has a quick dry time. And as you can see i'll need a refill soon!

So I ran to the Dollar General yesterday to pick up some snacks and I ran down the aisle of what I suppose is college dorm stuff. And as I was looking at all of the bins and storage containers I kept thinking ''What could I use this for..". So of course I picked up one little hard plastic rectangular basket. They had them in pink, green, and purple I believe and they were only one dollar. I bought it but didn't know what I would use it for exactly, but I knew something polish related. Well, once I got home-it hit me! I could use it for my polishes that have runneth over the polish wall rack! And guess what? They fit perfectly! So now I don't have to take down the big bin off my shelf, and remove a lid and all of that. They are neatly standing up in the little basket and are seated right under my rack. It's great because the sides of the little container are just the right height to keep all of the bottles standing up and neat.

See them? Right under the bottom left corner or the wall rack.

So! I will definitely be running back to the DG to pick up a few more of those. They are only a dollar so it's a steal! And Lord knows i'll need some more until I get another wall rack. Especially since i'll be making a haul in August at the Cosmetic Market!

SMALL HAUL!

Alright y'all! I didn't post yesterday because I was out and about with family. We started off the day bringing my brother to Best Buy. So while he was in there, I ran into Sally's!  And I don't know if you'd call what I got a haul or what, i'm not exactly sure of the definition 'polish haul' yet. And it wasn't all polish, so maybe I just need to drop the haul thing all together? Haha. Here is a list of what I bought:

So I guess you can decide if that's a haul or not! I went into Sally's knowing that I wanted to buy something for the betterment of my cuticles :) I ended up with cuticle oil, and I don't know if that's the best thing or not because right next to that, they had something called Cuticle Softener and Remover. Maybe that's the one I needed? Next, i'd been wanting to buy some polish thinner to revive some of my old favorites. I tried it as soon as I got home-works like a charm! Then I found those brushes. I mainly wanted the round brush to remove polish from around my nails. My mom spotted the double-sided one. The tiny little brush on it is for nail art, and now I finally have a REAL dotting tool! I bought the pink buffer because my black one looks like death. And I bought those two polishes in the midst of all the other China Glaze's. I can scratch them off my wishlist now!

When I got home, after I thinned out some polishes with my new polish thinner, I painted my nails with Lubu Heels! Oh. My. Gosh. One of my new favorites! The red glitter is so subtle but just so perfect! Sorry for being so long-winded! I'll just post the pictures now!

Now, I am NOT a fan of pictures of my feet. HOWEVER, I am in love with these shoes and my pink toes looked kinda cute in them! So this is China Glaze's Rich & Famous. Don't expect any more pictures of my feet though!

 
Also, in my last post I mentioned that the picture of my polish rack was from a few months back and that I'd take a new one. So I took a picture of my general polish 'area'. And I threw in a picture of my dreaded polish bin!

The dreaded polish bin that i've had to resort back to since my rack got too full. But I keep mainly my 'baby bottles' of polish in here. & ones that I don't use too often.

The Polish Collection

Hey y'all! I'm not going to post just a single polish today, but about my collection in general. Compared to all the other polish bloggers out there I have a fairly small collection of just over 100+ polishes. This past Christmas I decided that I really wanted a polish wall rack to keep my polishes because I was tired of having to dig through my 'polish bin' to look for the specific color I wanted. So low and behold on Christmas morning I opened up my 90 bottle wall rack!! I was so excited. And in December, all of my polishes could fit on the rack. But noooww, i've had to resort back to putting some polishes in the dreaded 'polish bin'. So hopefully before this Christmas i'll be able to purchase another one for myself. Because this Christmas i'm asking my parents for a Konad Kit! Anyways, i've also started this small project of like charting my polishes. I have an old binder that is decorated from the front cover to the back in clippings from magazines (all polish related, of course). And then I have printed pages that read at the top in columns: Brand, Name, and Swatch. I'll post pictures so you'll have a better understanding. It's not some state of the art system but it works for me :) I just basically wanted something so I could keep track of all my polish. I should be getting some more polish soon. Have I mentioned that my parents are totally against my obsession? Haha, not ALL THE WAY against it, but they think i'm nuts! They think I could spend my money on something better, blahblahblah. Besides, I don't spend all of my money on polish. Just simply my tip money, which isn't all that much considering I just scoop ice cream at Maggie Moo's! Plus my mom can act like she hates it-but she always wants me to paint her nails! Haha anyways, sorry for the post being so late, today has been kind of stressful. Here's the pictures:

This is one of the inside covers. It has since been covered completely! But the ads for the Sally Hansen Nail Effect things (like the one I cut out for the top of the inside cover) are my absolute favorite ads in magazines! And I still want to try them out!



So! Where do y'all keep your polishes? Any special system you use? What about the Konad? Is it totally worth it :) ? And last but not least, do you have a favorite nail polish ad in magazines?
